Stephan Takkides is an interdisciplinary artist who lives and works in Bremen, Germany and Limassol, Cyprus.
He works with photography and video as well as text and web projects. His work is characterized by detailed topographical and environmental studies, combining observation with the imagined. Recent projects include a video recording the light and noise of passing traffic, a photo album documenting the weather over the shortest day of the year, and fieldnotes following a dry river from its dam to the sea.
He was born in Canterbury, England and studied at Chelsea College in London and the Transart Institute in Berlin and New York. His work has been exhibited or screened in Cyprus, Germany, the UK and the USA.
